Re: How do I restore the resistance on my UKPK?
There is no detent. It uses spring tension to keep the blade open or closed. The spring is double pronged. Is is possible that one of the prongs snapped off? If you didn't see two when you disassembled it then one is gone. That would make the resistance weaker. Right, what I meant was the tension. ...

How do I restore the resistance on my UKPK?
Is it inevitable that the spring gets weaker with slipjoints? I bought the HH edition in 2019, but the past two weeks I've noticed there's barely any resistance to break the detent of the half stop now. I disassembled it and cleaned it out then put it back together and it's still kind of weak, and I...

Re: Spydie Hole Hurting My Finger
No thumb stud or spydiehole has ever made my fingers hurt (except CRKs), but if it's sharp then 30 seconds with the white rods from the sharpmaker works well

Re: Joy over function
Spyderco Kapara, great ergos, incredible blade, coolest pivot I've seen on a Spydie and default wire clip, one of the longest cutting edges on any Spyderco I can think of for its size (and even longer than the Benchmade 940) by getting the blade to be 1/3 of the forward finger groove and the handle ...

Spydiechef Box has wrong country of manufacture?
I was thinking of selling my Spydiechef and I was taking a pic of the box for an ad post, and it does say Made in Japan when the Spydiechefs are actually made in Taiwan. Is this a misprint for the box, or did I receive a counterfeit? I've had it for a couple of years already :woozy and bought it new...

I'm also not really a fan of the lightweight, but I got the smooth G10 knifecenter cruwear one, and it's been in my pocket for 2 weeks straight, kicked out my TRM atom and Sage 3 and Bugout for the time being. The G10 one just feels much higher quality

Wow the FRN Native Chief is almost as light as the Benchmade Bugout, despite being longer and that back spring.

Para 3. Bought the BD1N lightweight, then sold it. Got the DLT version lightweight, sold it. Bought the DLT G10 version two times, sold them. Also bought the Maxamet Para 3 two times, sold them both times. Settled on the HH UKPK and Sage 3 as the knives I always thought the was Para 3 would be for me.

Re: Why is the Kapara so overlooked ?
There's way too little space in the compression lock area along with the slick scales makes it slippery when closing especially, and for some reason it's the only Spyderco I can think of that doesn't doesn't have its compression lock tab have ridges on the top of it. I'd re-buy it in a back lock or ...

how about a Boyd dent? The extra thin lockbar on your thumb when closing it is the only thing I dislike about the Chap, I feel a curve would relieve that discomfort.

Re: Blade HQ Mint Green M4 Manix LW
BladeHQ already has them physically in hand and those are their pictures and they're pinned, so I'd say it's 99.999% pinned. CS (from any company) are often clueless and these models were "set in stone" probably one or two or three years ago, I'd doubt they'd change the manufacturing pipel...

I like the Heinnie Haynes ukpk so much, wouldn't mind another one in a diff steel, and engraving on the back spring seems like a cool touch.

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?
I finally found a near mint Sage 3, never thought I'd find one. Combines the general ergos I love about the Sage/UKPK-ish handles, but also doesn't have the few things I dislike about the Manix which is that the tension on the spring is too high and the extended bump area on the handle. Tension on t...

Sage 2! I've tried the Sage 1 and kind of hate the texture of that carbon fiber peel ply, while I love frame locks. Never got one because it was discontinued before I started getting into knives

Re: Stretch 2 XL in grey G10 and CruWear steel!
So is the lanyard tube hitting the blade on literally all of them as they're just made like that? Or is it just a qc issue on some?
