That was a positive review indeed.
And it did make me want to carry my Urban again, so it did at least help a little bit.
Maybe I'll chime in again after a day or two of carry :)

Re: Generational Classifications: Do You Identify?
Born in 1965, to technically Gen X. Got to be a kid in the seventies and eighties and it was awesome! Stayed outside from sun up to sun down, learned to build and fix things, then break them and fix them again! I was turned loose with both a chainsaw and a Marlin .22 lever rifle at the age of 12, a...

Re: Generational Classifications: Do You Identify?
I guess I'm gen X, but I seem to only get along with people who are 45 years of age or older, so no, I don't seem to fit into the stereotype of my generation. Gen X is approx. 44+, so that sounds quite right. I never think of generational stereotypes in my own relations. There are people who impres...

Re: My first SLIPIT experience / Spyderco Urban
yup, let's hope it reappears. The Urban is a weird one. Perfect ergonomics in the handle (for my hand), but compared to other alternatives it's a bit chubby in pocket for the amount of blade I get, so it hardly ever gets carried. I have the later version with the shortened blade, unfortunately. But ...

Re: Lost my Military 2
That's a bummer, Jim. Hope you find it again.
I've lost more multitools than I can recall, but knives have a tendency to turn up again - eventually. I hope this will be the case for you as well.

Re: Golden Serrated Salts
Seems like I derailed this thread to become a CE appreciation thread. Though it wasn't my intention, I'm very happy to see so many of you sharing my appreciation. I hope Sal and co takes notice :smiling-cheeks In contrast to Wartstein it took quite a while before I dared to dip my toes in the murky ...

Re: Social networks vs. forums - possible return of content to the forums?
I "quit" Facebook earlier this year when they wanted me to pay a subscription fee to keep my privacy settings, or give them up and use Facebook for "free". As far as content, the service is absolutely of no value (and the same pretty much holds true for instagram). Any knowledge ...

Re: The greatest mail call ever??
I'm quite jealous of your Catcherman, Lance. I really hope I can catch one while they're still around, and without paying crazy money, which is my only option atm. I really feel like time is running out. The PM2 salt looks nice. It's almost tempting me to give the PM2 another go, but I'll hold off a...

My first time visiting this thread. Just read the first page, but it was enough to convince me. I'll go back to read / look at more pages later. https://i.postimg.cc/0NyPB36G/image.png For my first contribution I'm going for realism over beauty. We're between seasons here so the conditions aren't id...

Re: hello everyone!
Welcome to the forum, Hic et nunc. Fellow European with a similar disease here :) Norwegian to be precise. Been to Italy a handful of times, it's a really beautiful country. One of my biggest regrets is missing out on a climbing trip to the Dolomites when my climbing group arranged a trip there many...

Re: Golden Serrated Salts
Not to mention CE salts. I know I’ll sound like a broken record in this regard, but the total absence of CE in the salt production lineup is both surprising and a little disappointing. Of the Golden salts I think a Manix CE would be my preference, but ideally I’d also like to see backlock in the 3.5...

Re: Dragonfly vs. Lil' Native
I think both are ergonomically compromised… Out of all my Spydercos The lil native feels like it needs jimping the most yet is the only one I own that doesn’t have jimping. The pocket clip also makes itself known in the hand the most. The Dragonfly is a 3 finger knife in my hands which to me makes ...

Re: Chief vs Stretch XL for fishing knife?
I have not been fishing lately but upon inspection of my tackle box I see thin and pointy knives. 8< ----- To remove the fish bones, scales and organs you may need a Native Chief. For hunting you need a tip that has a less acute tip to the knife. I guess it could depend on the size and species of f...

Re: Anyone Else Up For a Resilience in CPM-M4?
To me, the price point is the primary attraction with Chinese value line. That difference becomes less obvious with the higher end steels. Sure the designs are good as well, and if you prefer your edge all the way up to the handle, there's not a whole lot of options in the Spyderco lineup. It's sti...

Re: Cold Steel Talk
Midway have some great deals on Cold Steel, luckily for me they don't ship outside the US. That has certainly kept my CS collection slimmer than it would be otherwise, but a few have found their way into my drawer anyway. My first was probably the Pendelton mini hunter in 3V. It didn't quite work ou...

Re: Dragonfly vs. Lil' Native

Thanks if I recall correctly and correct me if I’m wrong, you are doing this in the Austrian mountains and forests which is going to be different from the canyons and ...

Re: Dragonfly vs. Lil' Native
I figure the Dfly is in a way as unique in Spydercos lineup as the Chap FRN is - but each in different aspects. Indeed. The Chap is one of my favorite Spyderco's. It's unique in some of the ways that really matter to me; a very slim and subdued carry (esp. the LW) that carries almost unnoticeably t...

Re: Dragonfly vs. Lil' Native
I have both (and the Chap LW). TLDR: Dfly ..and for me it's not even close. I carry a Dfly every day, and it's been this way for years now. It's the knife that solved my EDC. It's the way it balances light weight and small carry size with just enough grip area to get a full, secure grip and just eno...
