Re: Spyderco Standard Clip vs. Lynch vs. MXG Gear

I'm stealing this thread, not to open another one for just one question: MXG owners with PVD black clips - how is the durability on those? Lynch has no clips for Native 5 LW (they said in 2022.), so I'm stuck with MXG for deep carry clip. I wear the knife in bsck pocket and ALL the clips I had, no m...

Re: Military in XHP/204P/20CV/M390

I know BBS has exclusive Paramilitary in M390, really don't recall Military having any of these.

Edit: If anyone knows, it's RamZar - walking talking Spyderco encylopedia.

Re: Native 5 salt is Magnacut?

Wish they change the color of Magnacut Native, even though it's a Salt.

It should get a designated RAL.

Re: Mule team - preorder

As much as the answer Sal gave us makes me sad, now I know the official statement.

Well, time to move on, Christmas selection time - N5 FRN BB, G-10 or Chap G-10.

Hope that this changes in the future.

Re: Mule team - preorder

@JRinFL Really did not notice previous requests for preorder of Mules - did any of those have Spyderco employees or Sals response? From what I see, only investment is computer software to cope with prepayments. I agree, it's not a money maker for them, but Spyderco, at least from what I've seen duri...

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?

Bought some sardines today, started cleaning heads with my kitchen knife and then remembered my Native is much sharper.

Not sure if I can put the complete picture with all of the details here, if not, please delete.

Re: Mule team - preorder

In my extremely limited experience, presales are a mess to track. I run a very small online store (think merch for a local rec sports league, that sort of level) and we've taken preorders a couple times when something is either too expensive for us to carry unsold stock or when an item sold out une...

Re: Mule team - preorder

Currently there is a two year lead time on steel aquisition and production of a Mule. Maybe more, depending on the steel. Not many people in this day and age have the patience to wait quietly for two to three years on a pre-order. I very well maybe be in the minority on this one, but waiting two ye...

Re: Mule team - preorder

Stop the madness - start with preorder option. Dude! There WAS a pre-order! You missed it? It started at 9:00 a.m. this morning. You pre-order, and then they'll ship it out to you in the next few days. How would your idea be any different? Maybe Spyderco could go live with your "pre-order"...

Re: Mule team - preorder

I would definitely pre order but I think the pre orders would have the same issue. The demand exceeds the supply. If Spyderco did a second batch of another 2,000 pieces they would go pretty quick too. I wonder if Spyderco would entertain the idea of a second batch? I think a pre sale to forum membe...

Re: Mule team - preorder

Frustrated by losing another Mule, and this time was really interested, I come to the logical question - why doesn't Spyderco allow pre-order for a specific Mule batch? So far it's always been a massacre when the sales start - page blocked for an hour, and when it finally starts working - SOLD OUT....

Sal, could we get a hint when we could expect first production photos of the Leaf Jumper.

I wait until they're all dull, and then sharpen one :squinting-tongue
