Re: Knife for saltwater

I’d consider at least one sheep’s foot (Atlantic Salt or Caribbean) for “rescue” uses as the blunt tip is much safer in adverse conditions.

Re: Steels you won't buy...and why

I’m probably not buying S110V or Maxamet. I wouldn’t choose S30V (though my resistance to the Amalgam is growing weaker,) S45V or XHP (don’t care for it in the Chap or Chief.) I think most of the other production steels are good enough for me if they compliment the design/expected uses. Did you mea...

Re: Your Favorite Era In Spyder History?

Another vote for NOW! That’s part of the beauty in CQI to me. There have been some great models in the past but it seems to me that materials and quality are better than ever and the options only continue to grow.

Probably not. The handle is gonna be like 6 inches long, I'd never carry it.

I’ve got one coming. If I can offload my extra satin version without too much of a hit then I’ll probably pick up one more.

Re: Which knives you like so much, you buy duplicates?

I’ve only got a few exact duplicates, but many Delicas, Maniis (?), Enduras, Police 4s and Chiefs.

True backups:
Delica wharnie HAP40
Chief REX45
Autonomy 2 blacked-out SE
Police 4 G10

First flip through impressions:
Glad to see H1 and LC are staying in the Salt lineup with MC coming into the fold as well. I’m also relieved to know the Zoomer isn’t going to the disco yet and I can save for it proper like. Finally, I’m excited to try serrations on yet another steel (MC!)

Re: SMKW Red Fat Carbon 12.7.2021

As I understood all three/six variants were ordered together, but I think it might’ve worked better to just drop them in threes (satins and dlcs being two drops.) But I understand why they didn’t sit on the inventory after waiting almost two years for them.

Re: We need more Millie’s

Didn’t mean to ruffle any feathers. I was asking about a comp lock as an addition to and not a replacement of the liner lock. I’m a user, I’ve carried and used knives since I got a 3-blade electricians knife about 30 years ago from my dad. At this point I know when I know and I didn’t need hard use...

Re: We need more Millie’s

I’d have a fleet of Millies if they weren’t liner locks. I keep hoping this whole Millie2 comp lock idea gets some traction, but for now I’ll stick with my Native Chiefs and Police 4s. I have to ask; have you ever tried one? I was skeptical at first, just because I’ve tried liner locks from a coupl...
