Re: Crucarta UKPK?
I have seen custom made traditional slip joints with G10 liners and micarta scales (or G10 scales and micarta covers in traditional speak).

Re: Endela scale options
You could always sell yours and buy the Knifecenter exclusive Endela with the Pakkawood scales. https://www.knifecenter.com/item/SP243WDP/spyderco-endela-folding-knife-hap40sus410-satin-plain-blade-mahogany-pakkawood-handles-knifecenter-exclusive This is a good suggestion if you want a more premium...

Re: Crucarta UKPK?
G10 is stiffer and harder than some micarta. Most importantly it is more dimensionally stable.
Micarta and G10 are both strong.
As I understand Spyderco stopped building unlined micarta models after experiencing some problems in stability when shipping between vastly different climates.

Re: Favorite Spydercos You Got in 2023 - In Your Pocket in '24
I got my BBB 15v Manix at the end of 2022, so somehow only got two this year?! This is by far my lightest year of Spyderco purchases in years. My accumulation doesn't have many gaps I miss anymore. Both of the ,2023 purchases are awesome. I finally got some MagnaCut in a favorite model, the N5. The ...

Re: What’s your favourite exclusive for future models?
I am partial to both the Hap40/ Pakkawood I keep forgetting about those Hap40 exclusives. They look beautiful. I like the new black pakkawood they are doing , but would prefer the laminated Hap40. They seem to go on sale around Black Friday. I need to keep an eye out. Maybe they will do a Stretch X...

Re: What’s your favourite exclusive for future models?
I am partial to both the Hap40/ Pakkawood and satin CruWear/ smooth black G10 from KC. This my vote. I also quite like satin CruWear with purple G10 from DLT. One favorite exclusive only because the blade shape and model is the HH drop point UKPK with s30v and red G10. Another favorite, only because...

Yeah, that's disappointing, but also probably not detrimental to performance.

It doesn't look great, but can you photograph the edge parallel to a metal straight edge and not backlit?

Re: Reveal 15: Shivering with Anticipation
I'd suggest that we wildly speculate and then argue about it! :cheap-sunglasses :party-face :hot-face :discguised :cussing :vomit :* That's a fantastic idea. OR, we could argue about it first and THEN wildly speculate. It's such a winning combination, you can't lose, either way you go. I really thi...

Re: My on going salt steel comparison journal
I have used LC much more than H1/2 and MC. I tend to prefer FFG blades for a lot of the media that I cut, so LC and MC have appealed to me much more than the H alloys. I am just getting more time in with my MC Native Salt, but not enough to add anything. Thanks, Windward, for starting this thread an...

Re: Reveal 15: Shivering with Anticipation
I'm just waiting on things already revealed. Looking forward to comparing a Native Chief Salt to the Stretch Salt, and keeping an eye out for the Catcherman and Crucarta Manix XL to drop. There is so much good stuff in the queue that we already know about. The induced demand is strong. The mystery ...

Re: Knives - FRN with Liners
The chaparral lightweight is frn with liners. Very solid feeling, yet with a very slicey thin blade. Great knife. Another nice feature of the FRN chap is the full steel back spacer. It is one of the few (or only?) current FRN models that has a steel back spacer. This helps gives a very solid and mo...

Re: Manix Modifications. What have you done? What do you want to do?
This thing was better than great, when it left the factory. Now it's my personal dream Manix 2. The changes I made: A titan ball cage, ceramic ball and a back spacer made out of aluminium. 16.jpg The cage is just for the aesthetics. Now all the hardware is silver/metallic. Locks cleaner, simpler, m...
