Crucible® CPM S90V is a state-of-the-art powder metallurgy steel enriched with a high vanadium content that promotes the formation of hard vanadium carbides instead of chromium carbides. This unique alloy mix enhances the steel's wear resistance while allowing the free chromium to provide superior corrosion resistance. The PlainEdge™ blade of this knife is full-flat ground for exceptional edge geometry and features a fully accessible Trademark Round Hole™ for swift, ambidextrous, one-handed opening.

The handle of this knife is injection molded from tough fiberglass-reinforced nylon and features Spyderco's signature Bi-Directional Texture™ pattern for a non-slip grip. What makes it truly unique, however, is its distinctive black-and-blue color pattern. The main portion of both handle scales is black, but is accented by a bright blue lining on the inside of each scale and a matching blue backspacer. This color motif is symbolic of the "thin blue line" that figuratively represents the position of the police in society as the force that maintains public order.
