Manufactured by one of Japan’s leading steel manufacturers, Hitachi Metals Ltd., Aogami Super Blue combines the same high quality iron sand that has been used for centuries to make Japanese swords with state-of-the-art alloys. The result is a steel capable of extreme sharpness and edge retention. The full-flat-ground blade of the Endura4 Super Blue actually consists of a Super Blue core sandwiched between layers of 420J1 stainless. It is mated to a lightweight handle featuring skeletonized stainless steel liners, injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon scales, and a four-position clip that supports left and right-side tip-up or tip-down carry. Like all Enduras, this knife’s Trademark Round Hole™ and sturdy back lock mechanism provide ambidextrous, one-handed operation.
